Don’t Be Afraid to Sue Someone

Q: Can I have multiple lawsuits simultaneously?

Some people go through their whole lives without retaining a skilled personal injury attorney– – either because they were never harmed by someone else they were too afraid or intimidated to pursue legal action. Others, they have multiple lawsuits at the same time. If you have been injured or suffered damages at the hands of someone else, you are entitled to pursue legal action—or actions—to eb compensated.

One famous drummer had a rough summer which reportedly began with a staph infection and was followed by a bus accident, prompting him to file two separate lawsuits regarding the two incidents.

In the first action, the drummer alleges that he acquired a staph infection at a medical imaging center after technicians prepping him for an MRI “were unable to find a vein and stuck him at least 40 times with a dirty needle”. His band was reportedly “forced to postpone its Las Vegas residency because of the drummer’s blood clots in his arms and staph infection” and had to cancel other bookings as well.

Personal injury actions often result from allegations of medical malpractice. In a personal injury action, someone who has been harmed as a result of the negligent, reckless, or intentional actions or inactions of another person or entity can sue to recover compensatory damages. When a personal injury action is based on medical malpractice, the injury is generally alleged to have arisen from a departure from accepted standards of medical care.

Compensatory damages may include such things as current and future medical care, current and future lost income or diminished earning capacity, property damage, and more, depending on the circumstances of each particular case. In order to recover, the victim must prove their injuries were caused by the defendant.

The drummer is also reportedly suing a bus company claiming a school bus driver allegedly “made an illegal left turn… and also ran a stop light” when it crashed into his car a month after the staph infection incident.
